Yara Alves is a professor at the state university of Minas Gerais. Master and PhD candidate in Social anthropology at the University of São Paulo. Her research interests are movement, domesticity, body and racial relationships in quilombola communities of the Vale de Jequitinhonha-MG. She is a member of the Group of Study and Research about Power Relations, Conflicts and Socialities (Hybris/USP).
